Where can I buy Lionel Train Track?
I just received a 75th Anniversary Lionel train set from my mother in law, but only the motor and trucks. I need to know what all I need, and what type, in order to operate trains. Any help would be appreciated.
Assuming you have a three-rail O GAUGE train set-your best and least expensive option would be to get Lionel O27 item. Will have 8 corners, and some sections of straight track. I would suggest 8.10 straight track sections. You'll also need a transformer to supply power to the track. I would suggest the location of a production stream Lionel CW-80, which is a very nice, sturdy with plenty of power transformer. Finally, you need a way to connect the transformer to the track. The device used to this is called a Lockon "is just a small spring clip terminals. They are cheap-a couple of them. Skip the, which includes the cable, and instead of getting about 16 patch cables wide from your local hardware store. Both can be found in abundance on Ebay. If you prefer to avoid the discomfort, however, can use one of the prestigious mail to distributors, or a local authorized dealer Lionel (www.lionel.com search to locate one).
